Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka is a native of Minsk which is the capital city of Belarus. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her father, a hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born Minsk, Belarus on May 5th, 1998. She has 12 WTA titles to her name in her career. This includes the Grand Slam of 2023 Australian Open. Doubles is her forte and she has also won Majors at both the US Open (2019) and Australian Open (2021), both together with Elise Mertens. Together with the Belgian tennis player She won the WTA 1000s at Indian Wells in 2019 and Miami. This feat was made possible by four couples playing in the women's doubles. Her ranking went from second to third place in the World Singles Rankings at the end of August on the 23rd, 2021. Her best ranking was also achieved in the month of January of 2023. In the same year, she was crowned the title in Melbourne before she went to the top spot worldwide when it comes to doubles. Her coach was former Russian tennis star Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the end of the 2019 season and partially at the start of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann also served as her short-term coach between August and September of 2020. From the beginning of 2020 she has been coached by her countryman Antonio Dubrov. Serena Williams is her role as a model, and she is followed by Maria Sharapova.
